How can it help me?

Increasing evidence and studies show that the arts have an important contribution to make to

health and wellbeing. This was highlighted through the pandemic, with more people enjoying and feeling the benefits of taking part in a creative activity. It can...

  • Help boost your self esteem and confidence
  • Help you to relax and give you something positive to focus on
  • Help you uncover or rediscover skills and interests
  • Help you to feel included, valued and less socially isolated

Arts on Prescription projects have been running across Three Rivers since 2017. We have worked with a number of experienced artists in a variety of media- Photography, Creative Writing, Mixed Media, Journaling and Mosaic.
Many people continue to attend our other mainstream activities after Arts on Prescription, such as

Be Creative arts classes, one-off workshops and Photography Walks.

Our next project will start in Autumn 2023

How will the sessions run?

This is a 10-week creative course led by experienced artist Sian Fenwick. She will guide you through at your own pace to help you feel supported and included, encouraging you to get creative and achieve your goals.

You will be creating a Stitched Journal inspired by the Joys of Nature- using mixed media, paper and stitching techniques. Personal to you, the journal will give you freedom to experiment and express yourself in new ways, whilst working to a set theme each week.

The sessions are also a good opportunity to socialise with other people as part of a group, work on a collaborative artwork and have a regular activity to look forward to- which are all important for positive wellbeing.

The relaxed and friendly sessions will take place weekly at:

Croxley Green Library, Community Way, WD3 3HF

Every Thursday, 10am – 12:30pm

From 5 October – 7 December 2023 (10 weeks)

It costs £40 (£4 per week) and the whole project must be booked and paid for online, in advance.

Instructions of how to book will be shared once we have received and confirmed your referral.
